Essential Information

When is the Best Time for the Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour?

This is essential to mind the season because the weather and climate are very crucial elements that determine the success of the Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour. There are four different seasons in the regions of Everest and each of them has its certain meteorological conditions as well as challenges. Ideally, any participant in this heli tour should be well-equipped and informed before the trip.

March to May are also ideal with moderate accompanied by sunny weather though it is slightly colder than the winter season. In warmer months the grounds become spectacularly colourful with blooming rhododendrons. A perfect chance to experience flight and see the Alps and other stunning Mountains while flying in an excellent climate.

The last two months of summer i. e. June, July, and August being the monsoon months also have the problem of continual rains and overcast, foggy conditions. Helicopter flights are complicated during this time because of the unpredictability of the weather conditions. However, this may give some breathing space and once in a while, you will catch a glimpse of the mountains surrounded by green vegetation.

September to November is the best season for the tour since it has no rough weather, very strong sunlight hence warm weather. This makes the locations breathtaking and one is likely to be privileged to be grateful for views of the Himalayas. Due to the high number of people that this season draws, the best thing is to sort and book a date early enough.

The winter season is from December and February and this is the time when the climate goes very cold with snowfalls. Environmental conditions may at times be hostile such as icy or foggy conditions which makes the activities of the helicopter challenging. However, winter may be an interesting time to organize the trek for people who wish to see beautiful snowy views.

As we know weather in mountainous regions can shift rather rapidly. That substantiates safety concerns that may lead to a change of flight schedules or even cancellation of the operation. Therefore it is always wise to contact your trip operator for any further information and flexibility as regards the daily itineraries.
