BARDIA NATIONAL PARK
Bardia national park is a place of pristine forest and wildlife out of the tourist track. The inhabitants of the Nepalese jungle: The royal Bengal tiger, the Asiatic Elephant, the one-horned rhinoceros, among others (deers, crocodiles, monkeys, birds…), which you may discover during jeep, elephants, floating or even walking safaris. Bardia is located 600km west of Katmandu in the heart of the Teraï plain which is inhabited by the Tharu ethnical group. They are warm and welcoming people with a very vivid, and complex culture close to nature. They are happy in advance to meet you.
Equipment: Good walking shoes, sandals (for river crossing or floating safari), long sleeves clothes (jungle color: brown, kaki, green), binoculars (1 per person), hat, sunglasses, sun screen, bathing suit.
River actives: The level of water in the rivers is much varying lately. At the time of your stay, it may be that we need to cancel water activities that we will replace in that case with other safaris.
We suggest, time permitting, to add one free day to this program to give the client some time to rest (Bardiya is a remote place), explore on his own or do additional jungle activities (not included in the price).

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu
After arriving in Kathmandu, a representative from Thrillhimalaya.com will pick us up from the airport and take us to our hotel. In the afternoon, we may take a rest or visit Himalayan Glacier’s office. In the evening, there will be a welcome dinner hosted by thrillhimalaya.com. For dinner, you will be served authentic Nepalese cuisine which will introduce you to the country’s food culture. Over night in Kathmandu.
Day 02 : Kathmandu Sightseeing.
Today after breakfast we start a guided tour to several of the most historical and spiritual attractions in Kathmandu which are also listed as UNESCO World Heritage sites. We visit the historic Durbar Square, the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupatinath, the famous 'Monkey Temple' (Swayambhunath) and Buddhist shrine (Bouddhanath), which is also one of the largest stupas in the world. At noon, we get our equipment checked by our climbing leader, get introduced to fellow participants, and discuss our trip at Thrillhimalaya.com office. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Day 03: Pick up from hotel and transfer to airport for flight to Nepaljung 45m.
Receive at airport and drive to bardiya national park. Arrival in Takurdwara (Bardia Np) check in hotel. After the lunch, village visit. You will visit the temple area, the Bazar and you will enter in a real typical tharu house and see the local life. Diner and night in hotel.
Day 04: Jungle walk (full day)
After an early breakfast, we go on foot in the national park for the day with a naturalist guide and a porter. There are good possibilities to see one horned rhino, wild Asian elephants or Bengal tiger among other animals. Picnic lunch
Day 05: After breakfast, we drive one hour to Chisapani, over the Karnali Bridge. Then we begin the floating safari (on raft). There are no big rapids on the river and this excursion offers good opportunities for magnificent landscapes and birdlife among other animals. Once in a while we stop the raft for small walks in wildlife prone areas. Picnic lunch, Dinner and night in hotel local Tharu culture dance program
Day 06: After an early cup of tea, you will go on elephant back for a safari. Elephants are very adapted to go inside the vegetation and give good possibilities to get close to rhinos. Breakfast, after lunch, drop airport to departure for Kathmandu.
Day 07: Farewell and Departure
Our aventure in Nepal cames to an end today! A Thrillhimalaya.com representative will be escort us to the airport approximately 3 hours before our scheduled flight. On our way home, we have plenty of time to plan our next adventure in the wonderful country of Nepal.
